Who We Are

As part of our objectives in developing talents and showcasing arts and cultures of the world since our founding in 2008, the JayNii StreetWise Organisation www.jaynii.com that is alleviating poverty through education, health, sports, arts, culture, music, community development, and sanitation among the vulnerable children and youth in deprived communities of Ghana has been organising events that impact positively on people of all walks of life.

One of such events - the Alokoto Festival has been the only top festival in Chorkor, now being moved to James Town.

We offer guests of all ages the chance to enjoy our many entertainment services in a safe and fun-filled environment. With massive attendance and entertainment which keep audience on their feet and shout for more, it is our ultimate priority and goal to make sure you have the best time on your visit as it gets bigger and better every year.

Every year, the world gathers at the centre of the globe to produce rhythms of the universe, traditional games, run intimate hands-on workshops/exchange programmes to offer artistes the platform to make use of their creativity and promote their work. Thereby making new friends, exploring, instilling, developing, preserving, exposing and promoting arts and cultures of the world, peace, unity and development.

Join in the fun at this year's Alokoto street Festival as we showcase culture and colour, music and dance, arts, poetry, and traditional games, as we bring the community, holidaymakers, fun lovers onto the streets to learn more, create, and share in the fun and memorable electrifying scene. interact/network and appreciate our cultural values. Consequently, unearthing, instilling, maintaining talents, and offering the platform for artistic potentials, especially our youth, to develop their skills and make use of their creativity. Thereby resuscitating our economies.​

Just for the love of music, creativity, arts, culture, and the fervent desire to promote talents in a not-rich but very friendly neighbourhoods like Jamestown, Chorkor etc, Emmanuel finally broke out of the shell with the first event in 2010 in the James Town and Ussher Town communities. Quartey started with his Jaynii Cultural Troupe, JayNii Afro fusion band and colleagues which immediately gain the love of the indigenes and has since turned into a unique festival in the area. 

Founder and Assistant, Emmanuel and Naa Borkor Quartey, popularly called Jay and Nii founded the festival JayNii which in the Ga language means culture. Now, It is Alokoto Festival to tell our story - Movement of the elect to showcase the cultures of the world.

Understanding culture helps one to show reverence to the past, experience the now, and imagine the future.

We’re experts in having a good time, and offer guests of all ages a chance to unleash their inner child through our wide range of entertainment services and activities. We offer guests a memorable experience with our large selection of activities. At Alokoto Festival, you will have a great time, no matter what. 

Participating groups will be accommodated in a hotel, hostels, dorms depending upon request by participants

Groups can stay with the people, interact with the Streetwise children and see the other side of life.​

WHAT IS ALOKOTO ?

Alokoto is a tiny type of snail that is shaped in a cone form and made to spin in sand till a winner skillfully makes it turn upside down. It is a game that brings people together and brings out the skills in them. As such, the symbol of Unity and Development ​​​​​
